I am currently trying to learn this song, and I noticed when you come back down between the pattern of strums you down don’t do a regular strum. It would be helpful if you could explain what exactly you are doing on that strum to make it sound that way
Hi Lewis, its called a palm mute. You have to place your hand across all the strings on a down strum a fraction of a second before the pick hits. Its all about timing and finding the best position for your hand to make contact. It took me a few days of practice (on and off in bursts of about 10 minutes 3 or 4 times a day) but It was worth it. I hope this helps. Best of luck.
