Song Requests

Hi there!

If you would like to make a video request you can do so here. I cannot promise to create one but I will look into it. In order to fulfill a request I need to:

  1. Like the song.
  2. Be able to sing it.
  3. Be able to technically create a video for it.

Please do not be offended if I am unable to fulfill your request, I get about 50 a week so can’t possibly create them all.

Each video takes between 6 – 8 hours to produce and all the work I do is voluntary, including running this website, so please consider making a donation, however small (they all add up) via the PayPal or gofundme links below.

Thank you for your support.
Best wishes.
Alan (Guitar Tutor Man).

Hey Alan I think “take me to your heart” by Michael learns to rock would be to your liking. I personally love this song and would love to learn how to play it for my fiancé on our wedding night. Thanks Alan.

  2. CJ Hunter says:

    Hi Alan,
I just started guitar and have really enjoyed your YouTube videos.
Was wondering if you could try out The Witch of the Westmorland. It was originally written (I believe) by Archie Fisher, however the version I’m looking for is by Stan Rogers.

Thank you for all you’ve done.

  3. Alex says:

    Hello Alan,
Wish you well, I would like it if you can please do “I Only Have Eyes For you”. It would be awesome cause I want to surprise my grandmother she likes that song. I found a version I like for its acoustic but I’m quite slow capturing the chords from it and the rhythm. I hope you see this message and the link is below of the version.
    Thank You.

  4. Keith Lugton says:

    Hi Alan,
Really looking forward to Landslide. I have tried to learn it and get so far. Start to struggle, appropriately at the “Well I’ve been afraid of changing” line.
Anyhoo, would like to request a tutorial. Would Sloop John B by the Beach Boys be possible?
Thanks for all your hard work in putting these together.
    Much appreciated as always.
    Kind regards,

  5. Alfrida says:

Hi. Thanks for you wonderful page, so appreciated! You are great and have such pedagogical skill, I think it’s one of the best, if not the best, guitar page I’ve found. Tutorials are so clear and easily accessible, and not frustrating in the least but a joy to try and learn from. Currently learning Madness: It must be love 🙂 Anyway: I’d love it if you could do a tutorial for “Englishman in New York”, I’d love to learn it an play it to a friend who just changed country of residence. Thanks! /Alfrida

  6. Myriam Kuijsters says:

Hey Allan, can you please do some songs from Fleetwood Mac. I noticed that you did already Don’t Stop, but they maked more beauty’s te performer. Already thanks from Myriam from Holland.

  7. Bill says:

I love your rendition of “Always Look on the Bright Side of Life.”

With 165 requests preceding mine, I can only offer a request in a general category:

Light, humorous, ditties/ballads similar to the Life of Brian piece. I’ve played guitar for years, and although I have a great voice, singing while playing to an audience can be intimidating. Adding humor to the mix lowers the fear threshold. “Bright Side” does that. So anything in that vein would be appreciated given your talent for playing and singing.

    Thanks, Alan!

  8. Duncan says:

  12. Andrew LeBlanc says:

Very impressive site! I am definitely making a donation. Its awesome! Could you consider the Crosby Still Nash and Young song called “Sleep Song”? I think its a good companion to Our House. Of course, you knocked it out of the park with Our House!

Consider series for “a feel.” These would be “Songs for the Small Moments.” Its just one example. Small moments are sometimes the best ones.

    Regards, Max.

  33. Peter says:

    Song Request : Hotel California

    It’s so easy.
    No, it isn’t.
The Fingerpicking part stops with a B7 and the strumming part starts with a Am and it sounds not good …. because the eagles played with 2 guitars with capos on different places.
I found in a monthly search only ONE tutorial with a round sounding without capo tutorial.
    That was from a german.
He played picking intro at the end with a B7 and the strumming beginning with a C-G-B7-Em combination.
Sounds without capo on one guitare not bad.
But still I don’t get it together.

You do a great job and I like your courses because you show the cords, picking, strumming and the singing part all together.
I haven’t seen something like this so proffesionel anywhere else.

That is also the reason the first time ever I ask someone (you) to help.

I’m 56, useless beginner for more as 30 years, with a crushed left hand.
After more as 30 years learning I still can’t play one song.
But I love to try it.
    Guitare playing is beautiful.

  34. Quito says:

I actually don’t have a song request, I am just looking at the mountain of guitar information, charts, videos and thinking “this is amazing”. So sent you enough for a pint to say thank you and have a great day!

  35. Steve Handley says:

  36. Garrett L Barton says:

I want to play Harvest Moon by Neil Young before I propose to my girlfriend. I cant find a rendition that I like on youtube. I’m a huge fan of your tabs, so would you please make a tutorial on Harvest Moon? 🙂

  37. Greg says:

    Hi Alan,

i like your work very much! I’m watching frequently your tutorials on youtube.

I’m struggling currently with an song from the Gaslight Anthem. It’s their famous song “59 sound”. I watched the accoustic version a lot of time, but can’t manage the strumming pattern. Chords are available on Guitar Tabs but strumming nowhere…

Maybe you like to an tutorial for an (easy) accoustic version of “59 sound”? Like this Version from Gaslight Anthem’s lead singer Brian Fallon:

So far as i can see, your tutorial would be the first real one FOR THE ACCOUSTIC VERSION on youtube and elsewhere!!! It’s seldom that for an famous song SIMPLY NO TUTORIAL EXIST. “59 sound” it’s such an issue! If you don’t have time at the moment for an full tutorial, just the strumming pattern would be very helpful (for me…)! Thank you very much!

    • Greg says:

      Hi Alan,

any news for “59 Sound”? I still can’t find a good tutorial and wonder if you have time to do one.

  97. Buddy Martin says:

Hi Alan, For years now I have been trying to figure out this one song with no luck. No one plays it correctly on the internet and I’ve pretty much given up. BUT, now that I’ve found you and how great your tunes are, I figured that maybe I’d ask you if you might try to work it up. The song is “Third Rate Romance” and it was originally done by Sammy Kershaw, but later redone by “The Amazing Rhythm Aces”. That’s the version I’d love to be able to play because of the guitar slides. If there is anything you can do I sure would appreciate it. You are an amazing talent and I’ve always been more of a cowboy chord player. Finally I’m starting to play a better quality of music. Thank you, Buddy Martin

    Hi Alan!
I’ve been watching your video tutorials for about a year now and have learned so much from you. To be honest, there are some songs I like better when you sing them rather than the actual band! I was hoping, if you have the time, if you could play a country song by Thomas Rhett. The name is “Die A Happy Man” and it’s a personal favorite of mine. I hope to hear your version and learn your style but if not I completely understand! Thank you and don’t stop making videos!!

  115. Christopher says:

Hey, love the content! There’s a song I’m trying very hard to learn but can’t get the hang of it! Other tutorials aren’t really helping me out too much. The song is called: “Whistle for the Choir”, by The Fratellis.
